the owner loses out if he takes in stolen property....
One thing I should add: on Fri. night, after I had paid $120 for the bike, if someone offers me $200 for it, I'm taking it.
I command a premium, $500, only after I've cleaned and tuned the bike, taken a digital pic and uploaded an ad to the web, I throw in a U-lock and delivery, I gotta research the damn thing thing, etc., etc.
the $20 was so he wouldn't feel he lost out completely.....if he had gotten the bike, he'd have resold it for $400 plus....and I promise when he reported the bike to the police, it would not have shown up as stolen, these things (and others) rarely do.stealth2 said:But he didn't knooooooooooow it was stolen! Am I the only one who gets the feeling that the $20 to the owner was so he'd keep his mouth shut 'cause he knew it was hot?
