the owner loses out if he takes in stolen property....

the $20 was so he wouldn't feel he lost out completely.....if he had gotten the bike, he'd have resold it for $400 plus....and I promise when he reported the bike to the police, it would not have shown up as stolen, these things (and others) rarely do.
One thing I should add: on Fri. night, after I had paid $120 for the bike, if someone offers me $200 for it, I'm taking it.
I command a premium, $500, only after I've cleaned and tuned the bike, taken a digital pic and uploaded an ad to the web, I throw in a U-lock and delivery, I gotta research the damn thing thing, etc., etc.

and notice my preliminary hearing was waived?......

the prosecutor wants to knock the charge down to a misdemeanor? That was on Monday, now it's Friday....how long does it take these guys to make their offer, anyway?!
