What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

I recently ended one of my two sources of revenue and have been using an extremely popular and previously effective app for applying to equivalent senior level roles for my career. I also work for an educational institution in a very prestigious position. This app sent my resume to a potential employer while I was underground on the subway creating an email cover letter for same in my email app because the ad provided a direct email contact. When I tried to send the email, it seemed fine, but then later I couldn't find it in my sent folder and realized a lot of sent emails were missing. This is now two different service providers experiencing issues with my smart phone seeming to be the common denominator. My phone provider treated me horribly at first, but eventually, someone with a brain was nice enough to forward my concerns to their fraud dept; that's a separate issue, I'd think. As for the email app, with an online request, I received a response from this extremely popular email provider and am awaiting for them to recover all emails deleted from my two accounts within the set days/hours I requested or whatever they can do, we'll see. As for this job app, they have almost zero support, but I managed to establish contact with their sales rep intended to assist businesses with posting jobs she was kind and helpful but still required hours of convincing and even then still argued the impossibility of their app causing so much damage but eventually acquiesced to the proof and agreed to email me when they had a response and provided me her direct line. After not receiving any response for five or six hours, I attempted to contact the phone she provided, and received a message that they were closed for the day. I am deeply concerned by the damage their app may have caused beyond the one recruiter that was definitely bombarded with an onslaught of submissions of my profile without ever even once applying to that job through their app. I'm not even sure how to proceed here because this is new territory to me and I just don't know what to do in terms of damage control or preventive measures or rights I may be entitled to. Can anybody please help me?

You should probably read the Terms and Conditions for Job Board, first the "Limitation of Liabilities" section and then, perhaps, you might want to read over the "Termination" section.

I do not see offhand that you have any legal recourse.

really?

no legal recourse? turns out the ceo of my cell phone company publicly apologized for this id theft of 15 million customers in september. had i known or been informed appropriately, i would have changed my passwords or followed whatever instructions are available on gov sites. However, after a week of being hung up on and treated like i was crazy, i went to my accouny to deactivate my phone and found the ceo's notice dating back to september? so no legal recourse? really? i think i might have to disagree. also, today i got a notice from credit karma that i joined two or three years ago and forgot about that capital one auto finance did a hard inquiry into my credit in early november. these idiots at my Tele-Mobile company and the experienced credit bureau did not inform me of this ossue in september and not only denied it but let another week go by as i desperately tried to figure out who or what was responsible or wtf was going on with my mobile devicw, the top of the line samsung edge, sold with promises of a worry-free electronic and telelphone experience, and someone accessed my gmail, indeed app, linkedin app, and most importantly, my work email. and so im now without any money and a month away from homeless but only a few days away from starvation. No legal recourse huh? you sure? cause they had my number and could have called me or emailed me, but instead posted a public notice on my account page of my phone website which i would never visit since i have the carrier's My Account app, which provides all the details related to my phone and ability to pay my bill but not any notices. Please somebody make sense to me.

... so no legal recourse? really? i think i might have to disagree ...

You can disagree with my assessment. I have no problem with that.

A personal review of all of the facts, by an attorney licensed to practice in your jurisdiction, will perhaps disclose some legal avenues for you to explore that I do not see in what you have posted. I suggest when you see the attorney, though, that you lay out the facts in a more understandable way as what you have written here is a bit confusing. You do not want to have to pay the attorney extra just to decipher your legal issue. ;)

Good luck.

Don't worry about your mistake, kentechwriter. I will let the moderator know that you do not want to embarrass yourself or anyone else with your thread. The moderator will either remove it or, if not removed, the moderator will lock it so it will eventually disappear into the archives.

I hope you were able to consult with an attorney in your area to get your legal issues resolved. If not, I still believe that is your best course of action. Good luck.
