PLEASE, I NEED ANSWERS, KANSAS LAWS
I am needing to know the laws in the state of Kansas regarding paternity for a person that is 18, which is the age of majority there.
If a man has been told that he is the alleged father when this child is 1 year old, and then told by the mother to not worry about it at that time, then several months before the child is 18, contacts the alleged father for emotional support because this child has caused problems.........what is the legal ramifications of doing a paternity test? Can mother or child come back for back child support if the child is indeed the alleged fathers? Or, if the alleged father dies can the child come after inheritance?
I believe the mother does not know for sure who the father is and has picked this man. His name is not on the birth certificate.
Thank you in advance!!
