Really? I know they can't add her until open enrollment, but I thought you could drop coverage at any time. Is that specific to one state or plan?

For example, we had employees who decided to drop medical insurance in the middle of the plan period - and that was never a problem.

Add, drop, or change coverage can only be done during open enrollment or within 30 days of a qualifying event.

Though, this is military coverage so the rules may be different.
