Landlord Entering at Will

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

A client of mine constantly says his landlord's employees constantly just enter his apartment at will. They knock a few times, open up the door, and put letters in his living room. These letters are anything from notification of future bug spray day, rent due reminder, 5 day rent late notice, or apartment community flyers. He doesn't want them to do that. What are his options? Must he just deal with it? Can he request it in person or writing? Can he just change the locks?

He can request, in writing, that they post these notices on his door or slide them underneath rather then entering. He can NOT change the locks without permission. If he's home, he can use the chain lock.

One thing you might suggest to your client.

If they paid their rent on time, they wouldn't have to deal with those pesky rent due reminders or 5 day late rent notices. That should cut down on the notices considerably.
