What is the name of your state?washington

hi..i am having a problem...i moved into an apartment in december 2004...its a new complex so i had no neighbors...in january perople moved in upstairs and complained about noise in my apt. The aptartment itself is built cheap, so i can hear basically everything they say and do, but i never complained since i chalked it up to poor construction. Anyways, i am pregnant(due in a week) and i have a friend who is over alot helping me and just hanging out...the neighbors complained that there is someone here, and the landlord gave me a 10 day notice of compliance stating that i have him residing here and he must leave the premises. when i went to pay my rent, the manager was very rude and when i told her my friend just comes over, she insisted he stays here. i have had a horrible time here and am uncomfortable being in a place that i can't even have someone over. is there anytrhing i can do to get out of this lease and get my deposit back? or, can you suggest something that can be done.

thanx...

What does your lease say about how long a guest can stay, What does your lease say about children?
Obviously they knew you were pregnant when you moved in.
Is this "friend" the father of your child"
Does he stay over?
Are you noisy?

Is your lease written or verbal? Hopefully written. If it is, read it. Is there something in it regarding guests? How about the number of people allowed to reside in the apartment?

Whitemidnight...there is not such thing as a verbal lease!!!

OP... Thats you Oh one thats about to burst.
Look at your lease.
Answer Rmets questions.
Don't forget to breathe.
If the apartments are so empty see if you can relocate to another one with less nosy neighbors...how are they gonna be when the baby comes>?
