Landlord is roommate in Alaska.

I live in Alaska. 6 months ago I anwsered an ad for roommate wanted, all utilities included. My roommate owns this 3 bedroom condo. We have had problems with the heat not working properly, also she likes it much colder than I do. I am moving out at the end of the month but I still have to be here for 15 more days. I woke up this morning to a note taped over the thermostat that read " do not change the temperature" it was set to 69 degrees and disabled so that I couldn't change it if I wanted to. I have worn a coat in my own house ever since I moved in. don't I have any say in what the temperature should be? My Rent always been paid, I thought that was supposed to include the heat. I guess only up to 69 degrees.

you are moving out in 15 days.. is this going to get legal? really?

I am cold!!! I know it states in The Landlord Tenant act that if the landlord fails to provide adequate heat, the tenant can find substitue housing and have the Lanlord pay for it until the heat issue is resolved. But what is adequate? I just want to be warm again. :(

Look up your State and local Heating codes . See what the minimum is There are many State's that only require minimum of 68 .

:( Buy a plug in heater for your room, sounds like landlord is cutting back on his bills, your moving in 15 days anyway.

Living in Alaska, is that really necessary, try California
