I have looked, there's not much in my area. and the only one that is 'decent' is 650 a month which is sadly over our price range, or is bad condition or other issues. i am not a picky person but the area i am in isnt too people friendly

That is not what Section 8 is about. Its about providing partial rent payments in order to enable you to afford a place that is better than what your income can provide. If you are on SSI you should qualify for Section 8.

I will look into it tomorrow, right now its far to late to call and all. thank you I will definately look into it, to see if I can get out of this shit hole, or at least a better place.

Sadly after checking section 8 the waiting list is closed. soo.. nothing I can do there and i cant get anyone to bloody talk to on their lines soo. that option is out for now

I suggest you look into any avail church run housing programs or any other housing programs you can find and plan for leaving , AS to your LL sure you could force repairs via housing inspections but if theres that much stuff wrong now its more than likely inspections will condemn it then you are going to have to move anyway.

Well me my dad and little bro have been looking for houses we could buy that my dad will get a loan for. we just haventfound the right one to suit all our needs. plus i spoke to the landlord, i am gonna end up barrowing the money to have the pipes and what not fixed, and he is reducing my rent by 200 the comming month, and 100 every month after till its fully paid back. we reached an agreement thankfully, but only after I told him that he was required by georgia state law to fix such things.

I live in Georgia of the united states.

I have been loving at the same place 5+ years. me my brother and my gf. there's alot that needs to be fixed. plumbing especially. about a year and a half ago, he refused to fix the plumbing, so we paid someone to fix it. He also told us that the plumbing pipes where cracked/broken from the house to the cleanout. siad it would cost 600 dollars to fix/replaced. Told the land lord, he told me he would have it fixed. year and a half later. he still hasnt fixed it, we keep having plumbing issues, and he keeps refusing to pay, we are on ssi so we cant afford to move else where. we are stuck he wont pay even though in the lease it states that anything over 200 dollars he will pay to have fixed/replace. and everytime we try to get him to do it, he refuses to unless we pay half or so much. What can we do?

Where a landlord fails, refuses or neglects to take care of or effect essential repairs in the apartment, for instance broken heater, damaged roof, etc especially in cases where the landlord has been put on notice, a tenant may legally withhold rent or exercise the right to “repair and deduct” from rent and same shall be deemed to be lawful. I do not know how the law operates in Georgia.
