What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

We are renting a three (3) bedroom home since October of last year. Back in March 2005, the landlord suddenly had some issues that he wanted us to address, which we did. At the same time, the landlord told us: "Please don'nt waste my time trying to contact me on the phone."

Since I received that, I have resorted to using emails to talk to him and sending copies to his residence. However, he refuses to respond and won't answer the phone when we call.

I have provided him a list of repairs that needs to be done as well as notice that he did not provide adequate notice of a recent increase in rent - although I did pay the amount he raised it to. However, to date he refuses to communicate with us.

What can I do about this? It is nearly 90* out every day and the AC is out. We can not afford to move and I am afraid to do anything for fear he will evict us.

stop using emails to complain send him registered mail with your complaints to have a actual paper trail incase you end up in court with him because of his breaching the lease .

Do not Live in Fear...
It is cold and dark there... and there is no cable... :p

Good Luck...

I, by the way, have no air conditioning but I have 4 dogs that lick on me and wag their tails when I say "Good Dog! Good Dog!"... so it is cheaper... but stickier...
