What is the name of your state? in
i was at arbys for only a month and i had to quit due to the lack of transportation. i put in my weeks notice and wasnt able to make the last couple of days. when i called the manager he said that he was going to cut my last check @ minimum wage... and that i was in my handbook. now i was never put through orientation or anything like that... is there anything i can do to get my regular rate put back onto my last pay check?

... so what's the difference in the end result? Like $12 or like $100? Is the difference worth the effort? You couldn't have been making that much at Arby's.

IF the company has it in the employee handbook or any other communication that you were given, that under these conditions your final pay will be cut to minimum wage, then it is legal. Whether you actually read it or not doesn't matter; as long as they gave it to you, they're on safe ground. All they need to show is that you were given the information.

If you were never given any kind of notification that your pay would be cut to minimum wage, then you can file a complaint with the state DOL. But before you do that, be darned sure that there's no mention of it in any communication, including the handbook, that you were given. No sense burning your bridges (some future employer may be calling them for a reference some day) over $30 bucks.
