What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Can the landlord write a rental agreement saying "$1300 is due on the first" (that part I'm okay with but the next I question ) "..... if paid after the 10th, a ten percent (10%) late fee and additional processing fee will be due."

Are there guidelines concerning late fees and, especially, additional processing fees, that you might refer to me?

A little difficult to enforce in some states as some states deem ALL fees MUST be clearly listed in the lease agreement. For example the proccessing fee.

You will need to verify with your states LL/T laws.

I agree, the "fine" is in the lease but not the processing fee cost .. so the fine is OK but not the processing fee (what processing fee would there be anyway??)

I'm wrapping up threads I opened and want to thank the posters for your responses ... the information was helpful to the person needing it ....
