What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

I was involved in an accident in November 2004. I then consulted an attorney and even signed a contract for legal services. The attorney said he'd be in touch to let me know if he could even do anything for me. The attorney made little to no contact, yet now he wants a percentage of what my insurance settlement was. I received maybe two letters for copying costs and even called his assistant to say I wasn't paying this and that I didn't want him on the case anymore.
Anyhow, the settlement amount went to pay off my total loss vehicle, yet he (the attorney wants 25% of this). An amount he had nothing to do with helping me to obtain. The check was written to Toyota and not me. And now he he and I are involved in an email dispute...with him saying things like: "you as a teacher should know what a contract is". Very simply though, he did not render services. He even said the DA who held a restitution hearing recently was outside the scope of the case.
This guy is relying on a paper I signed, yet he never communicated with me nor is he the one to help me obtain the insurance settlement that went to pay off the car. This guy is using scare tactics now. I need some advice quick!!
Thank You for helping me out....
Please help!
I am so frustrated...this guy failed to render services!

Report him to the Bar Council/Association for what they call a fee dispute and they will get to the botton of it and speak to him as well. They should be able to help you out, He NEEDS to prove any/all work he did on your case and it sounds like it was Nothing. If he is harrasing you through e-mail you have that prrof as well. Good Luck!
