What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?Ma
My song was picked up by a publisher in febuary of 2008. I signed a contract with them.
To this date nothing has been done with it and I would like to pursue other publishers.
Two people have contacted me on using the song but each time both fell thru after speaking with them.
I would like to get out of the publishing contract. How do I do that?

Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol to get out of a contract. In your case, it may be easier, depending on your contract.

You should probably see a lawyer.

Prince went only by his first name (his real name is Prince) as his stage name. The studio owned the right to his stage name. He went by Love Symbol #2 when he left, among other more complex reasons.
