I couldn't find it on that site....
Judgy,
Sorry to take so long I was watching the Scott Peterson sentencing - Death by lethal injection

and

Robert Blake Trial, Not Guilty and they cut his braclet.

Here is the link to the part of the calculator, a triangle is also a polygon
http://www.1728.com/polygon.htm
jimmler the Surveyor also provided a formula.

To late...sigh

My sister is a Masters Mathematician... sent an e-mail to her.. she is also a mother of two little ones... so the e-mail came back too late it seems...
besides it was gibberish ( to me at least)... but I did try.... Here it is for all its worth. She knows I am the Literature and History buff so she was very confused at my question...

You need to use the Law of Sines, which states: if a, b, and c are sides of a triangle and A, B, and C are angles opposite those sides, respectively speaking of course, then the following fractions can be used to solve for missing angles and sides:

a/SinA = b/sinB = c/sinC

Similarly, there is another set of formulas that can be used to solve for angles and sides, too:

a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bccosA
b^2 = a^2 + c^2 - 2accosB
c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2abcosC

sorry darli-- oops... I mean Sir Judge... I tried... :(

So the perimeter would be 321.54 ??? I really read a lot of books in my life... but math... uh no...

And uh.. DOC! I think Da Judge knows that a triangle is a polygon!! do not insult the man! :p

I know Judgy knows a triangle is a polygon but on the calculator site, you had to go to the part on polygons to find the answer not the link to angles, that was all. :)

Thank all y'all very much! I was on the right track and y'all have filled in what I did not know.

I called the surveyor and I watch NUMB3RS every week.

The surveyor was out screwing something else up and has not gotten back to me. I will let you know.

Well, that's nice.

I would hope that you would give the surveyor the time to respond to your request before stating they are "out screwing something else up". You may not be the only client they have, I know it is a hard concept to accept.

What if his question was in response to evidence submitted in court, lacking all relevant facts? Even Judge Judy has her Bailiff do math for her, why shouldn't all the data be included in a survey?

WELL,

Since nothing was ever mentioned in previous posts that this was in response to evidence submitted in court, lacking all relevant facts, your point is moot.

I don't think Judge Judy cares either.

Without review of an actual survey, or review of what the surveyor was contracted to do in the first place, you have no idea if all the data required was included or not.

What are you doing jumping all over the Judge for? You surveyors have a motto "all for one" or something.
I think the judge probably waited before posting his question, because he wasn't getting much of a response from one of you musketeers!

And obviously the first survey he got was full of holes... so sounds like this guy he has hired ain't up to full speed.

So pipe down mister... I have been lurking enough to see that the judge is one of the most kind and considerate posters around... and I won't say anymore or I will get that crazy ENASNI mad at me. :p

It is not moot, that is the reason for the question, the survey was missing data for one side, the reasonable person theroy applies here it doesn't require viewing the actual survey. Thank you for providing the calculations of the data.

Please keep in mind that this is the same surveyor who told me on a previous job when asked to explain the call "...thence on a curve to the right..." when there was an intersection of one straight line with another straight line: "Oh, that curve is there...you just don't know how to read a survey."

Believe me, lawyers are the world's worst when it comes to screwing up deeds. Surveyors are a close second.

I will forgive you for the crazy remark because you know enough to Step away from Da Judge...
Thank you for defending the judge... but you don't need to do that he is so well respected around here this surveyor dude is just whistling in the dark.. besides... Shakespeare says it best.

When we mean to build,
We first survey the plot, then draw the model;
And when we see the figure of the house,
Then must we rate the cost of the erection;
Which if we find outweighs ability,
What do we then but draw anew the model
In fewer offices, or at last desist
To build at all? Much more, in this great work,
Which is almost to pluck a kingdom down
And set another up, should we survey
The plot of situation and the model,
Consent upon a sure foundation,
Question surveyors, know our own estate,
How able such a work to undergo,
To weigh against his opposite; or else

Top O' the Mornin to ya Judge.
