I am from texas. I sold a four wheeler on ebay. a year later the guy has problems with it and decides to sue me. I hire a local attorney to take care of it for me. After calling several times to the attorneys office and not getting a return call at all I decided things were heading in the wrong direction. The attorney turns out to be incompetent and misses the hearing and i get a judgement of over $5000 against me. I keep calling his office until he finally calls me back over a week later. He tells me he will take care of it. A hearing is set to see if we can reset the hearing and is denied, (found this out almost 2 weeks later). He then calls me and tell me that he couldnt have it resheduled, so he has to file for an appeal and today is the last day to file. Then he has the balls to tell me I have to get a friend to sign a bond so he can appeal. This guy is nuts? what can i do?

If you feel you have been treated unfairly by an attorney in Texas, the Client Attorney Assistance Program may be able to help you, at 800-932-1900. If you wish to file a complaint against an attorney you can request a grievance form from the Chief Disciplinary Counsel at 800-932-1900.

Also, ask the attorney who his malpractice carrier is so you can file a claim with that insurance company.
