You can't assume that - OP could be the stepfather, a friend, a brother, grandfather, even the mother posting under someone else's screenname.

OP - the ramifications can, however and as fammy sauid, be rather devastating. Simple enough as a slap on the hand and a "don't do it again", to fines, jail time, and ultimately a change in custody. The other parent has as much right to spend time with the child as the CP. If there is an issue involving abuse, neglect, etc - the CP should speak with an attorney and file for the proper modification. But withholding visitation is generally a very bad idea.
