What is the name of your state? CA

I have decided to write a short letter to the courts and I need to know how to properly address it and how to word it. The letter is to state that my son's father has been responsible in paying his child support order the past 2 years period. The thing is, he's looking at a possible 32month jail time and his laywer asked him to compile this portfolio of sorts, to show the courts that he's not a threat to society, a gangster type guy, etc. The only reason why I agreed to do this is for a purely selfish reason...MY SON!!! If this can somehow help him stay out of prison, keep him working out here, so that my son can continue receiving his child support...then so be it. If it doesn't help, then I can tell my son that I did what I can do.

Thanks for much needed advice!!
