What is the name of your state? TN

My wife and I bought our first house last Feb with a contingency clause in the contract stating the septic system had to be inspected and found not faulty. The inspection letter provided at closing was recently found out that it was only an inspection on the 1/2 bath addition and not the septic system even though the comments state septic working fine. In November we discovered that the leech lines that drain the septic liquid into the yard were all collapsed and disintegrated. Had a proper inspection been done they would have discovered this. Anyway, we are trying to find out if the sellers have any liability for the repairs ($2000) since they provided an insufficiant document. Any advise would be great. We are in Nashville, TN.

**A: what do you mean the letter was recently found? Why did you not read the letter and confirm that the entire septic system was not inspected BEFORE closing in Feb.? Where is your Realtor?

The letter states septic working fine so no one questioned it because it was a master plumber who's inspection it was. It appeared correct however, when I talked with the plumber he said it was just a general plumbing inspection and not a septic system inspection. The price was 150 as compared to 400 for the SS inspection. Our realtor keeps giving me the run around and not getting back to me on what to do.
