What is the name of your state? California

I received a letter from dmv suspending my license for 6mon. for been a negligent driver due to 3 speeding tickets and another moving violation ticket in the last 6 months.

Is there a way I can avoid or reduce this suspension... traffic school, community service, ... anything? and what i need to do?

The tickets were really stupid, all before 6 am. on the way to work on a city with a speed limit of 25mph... There is no public transportation I can use that early in the morning to get to work. Please advice.

thanks for the advice.
Belive it or not the whole city has a speed limit of 25 mph... the funny thing is that even at peak traffic time they all goin over the speed limit! Hopefully I can get a restricted license. if not, the bike sounds a good idea. ... safety is important and the law is there for a reason but now I understand why radar detectors are so popular... This past 6mons has been the luckies ever!
thanks.

**A: why were the tickets really stupid as opposed to you being really stupid?

you can apply for a restricted license that will allow you to drive to and from work during certain hours of the day.

Other than that I would say if you think the laws are stupid that's your first problem. You knew the law, failed to comply (for whatever reason) and now you're paying the price. The only thing stupid in the whole equation is after the first time you continued the behavior.

Ignorance is the absence of knowledge. Stupid is the repetition of Ignorant behavior.

They explained why the tickets were stupid. It was before 6AM, in other words there was NO TRAFFIC and the speed limit was 25mph which is TOO DAMN SLOW for 99.99% of the streets in this country.

Hey bundy, you sure your first name isn't Al? O.K. just because you say it's too early before 6 a.m. to have much traffic the law is stupid. Well now isn't that special. You're so intelligent that you can determine that this speed limit before 6 a.m. is stupid without knowing the city, the area of the city, whether the speed zone is a hospital, school or other special zone and all from the comfort of your own stupidity.

how special is that?

The DMV suspends your license. Traffic School and Alternative sentencing is through the courts....completely separate.

You need to request an administrative hearing through the DMV to appeal your suspension.

In the meantime...don't drive
