What is the name of your state? Wisconsin
My boyfriend and I are planning on marrying and have a question about child support payments that he is behind on but is making monthly payments toward them. I own a home and if we married could a lein be placed on my property because of his past due child support until he finishes paying it. Is there any way to avoid this?

As long as you never put his name on the mortgage or the deed to your home, then its safe from any liens. However other assets can also have liens placed against them, so its wisest not to have any joint assets or joint bank accounts.

I live in Florida. I am married and I have medical problems that may result in serious financial debt. The mortgage is in my husbands name. Could excessive medical bills cause a lien on his property.

ccreed- you need to start your own thread to ask your question, what you did is hijacking, it is not fair to the op, confuses the issue, and your question doesn't get answered properly.
