When can I or can I posses a shotgun for hunting purposes after being convicted of a felony in Kentucky? I have heard that felony can be taken off of your record, is this true?
The only way a felony is not on your record is if you were granted a "deferred sentence" by the judge at the time of sentencing. If you did not get a deferred sentence, then you do not have your citizenship rights, including guns for hunting or any purpose. You can, however, get your rights back through your governor (application available through your state capitol or governor's office).
