So since someone made a mistake and paid you money you were not due, they should compound the error and pay you MORE money you are not due?

I think you're reading me wrong. I am grateful that Fortdearn in not asking for
their money to be returned. It's just a shame now that I'm truly ill and can't work because of never receiving the correct info I can't receive ltd. esp after paying for it all these years. Who knows how long your going to be sick for. If I had known about the hospital clause in the beginning I would have agreed to
be admitted, which the Dr. wanted me to. But like I said we never received any assurant policies ever. Our last open enrollment was in Nov. and my
employer was still giving fort dearborn policies out. I just feel somone should
be responsible for that error, but maybe I'm wrong. I would work if I could, I lost my car to repo, I've sold almost everything I own and just trying to
survive. I'm luckier than most since I have a family to help me. Again thanks everyone for you help.

Assurant denied my claim saying their policy required a 72 hour hospital stay. I have agorophopbia so being in the hospital was out of the question....And anyways hospitals don't keep anyone in there for 72 hours anymore.

Are you now saying that you WOULD have managed the 72 hour stay had you known about it? And that the hospital would have kept you for 72 hours just so you could collect LTD benefits?

I'm sorry, but that just doesn't jive with your first post as indicated above. It sounds more as if you are determined to blame your employer for the denial regardless of the facts.

You're right, I wouldn't be able to stay in the hospital, I'm stuck at home, I hope you never have to endure this nightmare. What I wouldn't give to be able to return to work.
