What is the name of your state? California

Hello. There is a Major movie, just released this month here in the U.S., that references our actual family member (his real name), using an actor depicting him, several times throughout the film. Should they have gotten permission from the family? Should they pay royalties? This person has eight surviving children. He passed away in about 1991. Thanks.

Do you think Bush and his band on idiots gave Michael Moore permission to use them in his film Fahreneit 911? Permission is not required, especially if the person was involved in politics or the entertainment industry. Who was the person and what is the movie?

Oh. I didn't think of it that way. Didn't know the technicalities. It's the new "Ray" movie w/Jamie Foxx, and near the beginning, there's a record producer who approaches "Ray" offering him a business card. This character appears several times throughout the film. This scene is depicted on actual events and the record producer was our actual relative, using his real name. Thanks.
