What is the name of your state? Mine is PA but this is for CA

Someone I know in CA lives in an apartment complex and has lived there for 5 years. She lives on the top floor. Each unit has an outside door to their apartment. The top floor units have steps that they walk up and then they walk to their unit, kind of like a hotel/motel situation. She became ill and is now disabled in the fact that walking up the 16 steps to get to her unit is extremely painful for her. He disability is permanent. She could move to the bottom floor but the new prices for a new tenant is $250 more a month so if she switches she would have to pay the new rate and can't afford it. Can she request that the landlord make a ramp to her apartment?

You're not crippled..... you're ZIPPY!!! :D

I haven't said anything else! Gosh! I started this post remember. I admitted I didn't know enough to answer this person's question so I asked for help in here. It is the way you guys answer the questions. I realize we aren't paying you for the advice but if it infuriates you guys so much that we are ignorant of some things then why do you do this? But, there are some things you guys know nothing about or very little. You know the law, but your bedside manner stinks. I have had many lawyers involved with me and none of them acted like you and they had some tough cases to solve and they won them using shear determination, respect, compassion. I am not without knowledge of how the system works. My lawyers won me a $1 million case that settled out of court 4 years ago and if it would have gone to court we might not have had a chance, but they were able to make the other lawyers shake in their shoes by using techniques, not by being a bully. Can't you answer the questions with out using descriptive language?

LOL! Thanks JETX, I am a zippy some days, others, I am LIMPY!

No, we cannot answer your in-depth, poignantly asked, and heart felt question, without using the utmost number of descriptive words we can think of, or pull from a concise, detailed, publically published dictionary.

You are the one who started the descriptive word paranoia. Let me assure you that while some people who suffer from recent injuries might not want to accept that they are crippled, they will eventually adjust, and lose such sensitivities.

If we must be politically correct, I guess I am "spinally, and nerve challenged."
