What is the name of your state? California

I want to get married but I'm illegal (overstayed visa for 360+ days). Can I still get married?

Your immigration status has nothing to do with your ability to get married.

I want to go for my green card, or some kind of visa that would allow me to stay here with her, legally (and be able to work). I heard you have to go through some sort of screening/exam before the government will consider you eligible for a greencard. What exactly will they do/ask when they screen me and my fiance?

You do not need a visa; you are already in the US.

Ok. So she applies for my K-1 and, if its approved, we get married within 90 days and then she applies for a work visa for me?

US citizens do not apply for visas.
If you apply for a visa, you will be banned from the US for 10 years for your overstay.

Why make this complicated? Read the info at the link provided.
