What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas

My wife and I recently had to file bankruptcy to seek relief from a massive amount of debt racked up due to medical bills. Part of that debt was medical bills for our now 19 year old daughter who is a full time student and still dependent on us for full financial support. She is still covered by my medical insurance, which paid their portion of the medical bills. We included these bills in our Ch. 7 bankruptcy filing and now the creditors are coming after my daughter.

Do they have the right to do this or can I tell them to take a flying leap  ?

I was living with my parents during the time that I started having seizures and was in and out of doctors offices and neurologist and it racked up a ton of medical bills. When my parents were not able to pay all the medical bills they started to call me. I was told that because I had turned 18 at the time the bills were mine and there was nothing I could do about it. So as soon as your daughter turned 18 they had a right to collect the debt from her. However...because these bills were included in your bankruptcy....this is a whole different situation. My guess is you should call your lawyer. I would think that she couldn't be held responsible...but if she is...make sure they are not trying to collect for debt that happend BEFORE she turned 18. make sure you check the sol on these too.
