My bigger concern is having this 209a on my background check and CORI. Employers will assume that I did something that meets the criteria for a 209a, even though I have not.

Restraining orders do not show up on a CORI. If you violate the RO, that's a criminal offense, and WILL show up on a CORI.

JP = Local speak for Jamaica Plain

Ahh!!! I somehow missed the mention of Jamaica Plain in the original post (not that I ever heard it referred to as JP). But that sure makes local resources easier to identify. :)

It looks like landlord bagged up my belongings in trash bags and moved them. There are also some broken and missing items. What can I do about this now?

Have you checked your university and/or other local resources yet?

You potentially could sue your landlord to recover your losses. You will want some evidence to support the value of the items that are broken or missing. If you have receipts and photos, those are good. You can only expect to recover the flea market or garage sale value of the used items.

Good luck.
