Happy Holidays - -

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all ...

... And a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2002, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the Western Hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the wishee.

(By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.)

Once again IAAL leaves us with a chuckle which in turn lightens all the loads we are carrying. I personally will try my best to have a GREAT holiday season and if I don't I promise not to sue IAAL for any misconception. Hey does this mean I now have a verbal, oral or any other kind of contract with IAAL? Do I hit the submit button... hum... decisions, decisions...

Right back at you IAAL

P.S. To IAAL: Thank you for all your knowledge and output. Although I'm fairly new here I have learned more and more every day as to my rights and MY responsibilities. Sometimes you are harsh but then again no one ever said you had to be nice on here... just honest. Some of us need your bluntness every now and then.... THANKS!!!

Jolly ol' IAAL, lean your ear this way (and I'll blow in it)
Don't you tell a single soul what I'm going to say (or said)

I'm leaving on a jet plane (Christmas morning)
Don't know when I'll be back again (but I think a couple of weeks later)

Y'all have a Merry and a Happy while I'm gone!:)

My dearest Grandma B:

You do realize, don't you, that you're "dating" us both with your "Laugh-In" and your "Peter, Paul & Mary" references?

"I hate to wake you up, to say good-bye . . .

"But my bags are packed, I'm ready to go . . .

"I'm standin' here outside your door . . .

"Once more time, let me kiss you . . .

"Then, close your eyes, I'll be on my way . . .

"I'm leavin' on a jet plane . . .

"Don't know when I'll be back again . . .

"Oh babe, I hate to go . . ."

Have a safe trip, a wonderful holiday, and get back here nice and snuggly warm, to start anew !

Warmest regards,

IAAL

My response:

Dear deefran:

I have this beautiful mental picture of you and I in a sleigh from the 1840's, with a patchwork blanket that the town spinsters gave to us, covering us, and a pair of white horses pulling us . . . and running over FKNA !

Merriest of Christmas and New Year's, sweetheart !

My response:

. . . and last, but certainly not least, to my dear and good friend, Homeguru !

Over the past two years on these boards working together, you have certainly helped to brighten my time. It has been my distinct pleasure to work with you here, and I hope to continue with you throughout more.

I do wish, and hope, you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's for 2001 and into 2002. I count you among my dearest friends and, perhaps, if fate should be so kind, that one day we will actually meet.

Your good buddy,

IAAL

And hearty greetings to you all, from those of us who hail from foreign parts.

This has been a difficult year for many of you but I know from my many American friends that spirits have never been so high.

Whatever your beliefs, may your God be with you.
