What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

Can anyone tell me if it is either up to the business or the State in the case of if there is or is not a set minimum number of hours which fail to reflect on an employees' paystub ie. 10 hours or like 30 hours, that requires a business/employer to cut a "special check" vs. forcing that employee to wait until their next payday to get paid for the hours that the company themselves failed to process in the current pay period?

Thanks!

There are no minimum hours or rules about special cheques. Employers are required to pay their employees for time worked on the earliest available pay run after that time has been worked. If employers fail to do this, affected employees may file unpaid wage claims with their state or the federal DOL.

That said, if you file an unpaid wage claim, it will take a lot longer to get your pay than if you just wait for the next payrun.
