What is the name of your state? Nebraska

My 82 year old mom was in the hospital for a month and is now in a nursing home being evaluated for competency. While she was in the hospital (last month) she signed a quit claim deed on her house naming my sister as owner. My mom and I had a detailed discussion about 4 or 5 years ago that she wanted all the grandkids and great-grandkids to get $2000 each and the rest of her estate should be divided equally between my sister and myself. My mother even had a will written with these stipulations and gave me a copy so I know this is what she really wanted. My mother has no other assets (no money, no car, etc.) My sister has been very evasive lately and through a conversation with the nursing home social worker I found out that my sister now owns my mothers house. I asked my mother if she knew she signed her house over to my sister and she told me she didn't remember doing anything like that. I am hoping to have a meeting with my mom, my sister and myself to get my sister to sign another quit claim deed to return the house back to my mothers name but I don't think she will agree to it. What other course of action do I have if I can't get her to comply? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you!

I called my sister and requested a meeting in mom's room at the nursing home and she refused. My mother has been swindled out of her home and everything she owns. What can I do?

Forget about having a meeting with your sister and mother. Immediately see an Elder Law attorney that does guardianships/conservatorships.

Hi, I just read your answer and was wondering if you could give me some advice. Recently, my mom was put in a nursing home. Prior to this approximately 3 yrs ago a quit claim deed was done giving us 7 siblings her home and property for the sum of a few dollars. Then the nursing home began investigating mother's business...us siblings then learn that less than 1 yr after the first quit claim deed, another one was drawn up with an added clause...life-time dowery for our mother.
My mother didn't know what she was doing and apparately my sister that did this didn't either? Now she says that she doesn't remember doing it, and of course my mother doesn't either with her dememtia. What can we do? The nursing home says that if we sell her property and home, they will take 1/3 of it's value. Could my mother legally take back her property and make these changes? We all signed the 1st deed; but, didn't sign the 2nd one, since it was done without our knowledge. I'd really appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks. ps...both deeds were recorded.
