Approx 10-11 years ago I had awaken from bed with tingling feet. They were just pinches and hurting, especially the balls of my feet. Was forever looking for the right pair of tennis shoes to wear. Few days later, went to my GP and he thought maybe to be Gilliam Barr Syndrome because my knee reflexes would jump so high when he hit them.....after weeks of just putting up with it and him putting me on pain pills (neurontin and ultram)......thee pain and tingling was still there but tolerable. Few years of had past with him more now leaning to a lower back problem. Sent me for a lower lumbar MRI and it came back OK! So continued on those two meds for the next 4-5 years of years! During this time, I passed kidney stones, had bouts of depression which he gave me Prozac and changed the script a couple of times even........Had bout where a leg would give out, so he put me on a "Med
Pack" and that did help. But still on 1800mg of Neurontin and 300mg ultram per day. I kept asking him....do I need surgery, if so then lets do it......He would answer back......."your not ready yet"" Over the last couple of years he had changes his thinking and now called it Cauda Equina. The nerves from my back running thru this little opening into my legs and feet were the problem. So I lived with his diag. and used the Neurontin and ultrams. In early part of this year, I had what I call an episode of off balance, dizziness, stumbling, couldn't walk right, bowel problems and most double vision. Went to him and said I want to get to the bottom of this and he sent me to the Cleveland Clinic. There I saw a doctor, surgeon...he hit my knees with his hammer and my jumped high. He felt this was with my upper hear or my brain. Sent me for a MRI of the brain and neck.......Dia it was MS with 12 Lesions......My doctor never once teste me for this. Even before I went to the Clinic I asked him "Doc.....is this MS.He said NO!" Well it was. (10 years of Neurontim and ultrams just masked my sysmptoms. Thats nine pills per day for 10 years. Letter from the doc in Cle back to my doc said "it has nothing to do with his lower back"........
So......is this a Mal-Practice Suit? I could have at least been helped earlier with the right diagnoses! Maybe me depression was from the unknown. Whatever.....he was wrong and caused me these years of dealing with the wrong disease. Help with your thoughts................William
