I live in MIssissippi, and this person who offered to 'help' me with my film lives in Louisiana. He 'let' me log and capture my 35 hours of video onto his hard drive, even though we had agreed that I would buy my own (and came to his house with my cash in my hands).

Now he is refusing to allow me to copy my files onto my own hard drive.

I spent a month doing this work and dont' trust him now with it.

Is there anything I can do? He works in film, I don't.

Cheers!

Only legal action can possibly help you regain those files. But the problem is
being able to prove you own them, moreso proving an agreement was made in
the first place.

Unless you 2 had a written agreement, I sincerely doubt you'll be able to get
them back just like that.

Not an attorney but just using my head.
