What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Tennessee
Father lives in Alabama

My ex has recently moved with his wife and they refuse to give me their new address. This bothers me for several reasons. First and foremost, the children, ages 10, 8, & 6, are due to spend several weeks with them this summer. Do I have any legal recourse to force them to tell me where my children will be staying during their visits?

Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

*** What exactly (if anything) does the custody agreement say as this issue??

Also, you can consider sending a letter to their PREVIOUS address with "Return Service Requested" noted on the envelope and the USPS will return the mail to you with the new address or reason for nondelivery attached; no charge.

In your search engine put in Alabama Visitation Guidelines and see what comes up... you might have to check a bit. If you don't find it, contact a local family law attorney to obtain them. Then look through them and see if you find something that addresses this, some states do, some states don't.

No mention of ncp's current address

The parenting plan/residential sharing schedule does not mention maintaining a current address between the parents. The only provisions for such made in our divorce papers is the order stating that each "party must update changes and circumstances of the individual for the information required by subdivision (B)(1) withing ten days of the date of such change." I haven't a clue where (B)(1) might be found. I don't find any reference to a B1 anywhere in our documentation.

I am from TN also, and I know that when your child is with the dad you have the right to know where they are and the phone #. My ex always tries to say he can't call or that I won't let him talk to our son, and the judge set a time that he can call during. So, I'm pretty sure the address part is the same. I know how it is though, we practically did not know where my ex was, he just kind of faded out on my son, then when I took him to court for child support, he tried to take custody from me.And your court order goes by the state that you file in, not the state one of the parents lives in. My step daughter lives in Alabama, and they filed whatever in AL and my husband has to go by their laws. I would imagine that any judge or lawyer would agree to a parent having the other's address. Do they not have a phone where you can call information and also get the address, or do the kids not know it?
