What is the name of your state? North Dakota
I was hired for p/t (usually 80 a month w/possible more hrs when needed) ( I told them I could not work f/t and this was acceptable to them. It is not in writing however. My average hrs for 2 years is 103 per month. All my work has always been done.Im in a state position. We are "ruled"by the commissioners. One commissioner does not like me because I am infavor of a recall petition being sent around on her. She has made harrassing remarks to me the last 4 mos.She is deliberatly trying to make me miserable. Ive written all this down. I just secretly saw the notes from the last commissioners meeting, notes on my saying I need to work more hours- plus lies of saying Im rude to people, I argue about bills, and I gave legal advice which was incorrect. All this is untrue, and these acusations came from the commissioner that does not like me. The past few months Ive been under great stress from this woman. I cry going and coming from work because of this woman. I am about to quit and see an attorney for hostile work enviroment. I about have a panic attack every time the woman comes in the building.
My question- should I question to see the minutes from the meeting before they get published? (I report directly to the auditor- to whom I would question- she is aware of this harrasment, but is afraid to say anything to cross this commissiioner in fear of losing her job) Or let them get published in the local paper - which is a total defamination of my character.
Should I immediatly seek an attorney and not say anything - or shall I say I feel Im being harrassed and then seek advice?
What steps should I follow. Anyone else I need to file a complaint with? I was thinking of the Attorney state general to file on this woman, but want to do whats in my best interest.
This whole matter has really ruined my spirit. I have done nothing wrong, and have done my job well.
Please advise how I should handle this.
