What is the name of your state? CT

Hi. I am a foreigner on a B1 extended visa. I would like to study to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. A nearby school offers LPN for 18-months of full-time study. Should I apply for vocational student visa (M1) or an academic student visa (F1)?

Thank you.

sorry placidly but I disagree, it depends on the schools authorization and how the program is categorized. if it is considered a certificate program, that is how I would look at it, you would be under M-1. certificate programs are taught at community colleges and universities so you can't just look at what type of school it is to make the determination.

actually it is not up to the student, the school should tell you which type of status it will be.

Thank you both, placidly and jpd.

I'm a little confused because the program is offered in a technical highschool and M1's are supposed to be good for only one year, for extension to another month??? Now the LPN program runs for 18 months. I have asked the program in-charge but she seems unfamiliar with this.
