i have been hoping for child support for almost 12 yrs now-the lil $200 /mo i ask for for 2 kids. fla knows he's in mich but mich won't do anything. then cse sends me letters saying 'your son will be 18-if you wish to keep support coming you must prove he is a student' so i call & say keep it coming, lol yeah ok. so how does one get mich off their butts to do something? his other kid with me will be 18 in 2 yrs. i know if i had been on assistance they would have moved on this. silly me supported them by working overtime. any suggestions on how to recoup my over $20,000 in arrears??

Have you contacted your States Attorney Office for Child Support?

That's one of the routes that I am using........ :)

I was told that if you "bug them to death," with mail and phone calls that they will act more quickly on your case.

You'd get further if you actually called more then email. Same goes with writing actual letters and sending them in the mail. Unless you have proof they read the email, for all you know, they could be getting deleted. After all, do you read every single piece of email that hits your inbox?

Nobody ever mentioned using EMAIL for communication until you just did.

All I said was:

I think most people know NOT to comunicate via email.

What beverage would you like with your foot?

I received similar letters. After a year and me calling to tell them my efforts were going to be fruitless, I was informed that they had found an address and a bank account. No $$ yet, but at least a contempt warrant has been issued, a lien put on the bank account, and his driver's license suspended.

I send emails to the CSE almost weekly and call at least once a month.

Wrong, again! Too many people rely on email to communicate in important matters like this, instead of taking that email, copying it onto an actual sheet of paper, printing it, placing it in an envelope, stamp it and get off their lazy butt and mail it.

There is nor reason to get sarcastic, I was just making a clarification regarding my own post.

I wasn't referring to her post. I was referring to my own post. I thought you were misreading my post, thinking that I was suggesting using emails.

AND more and more people ARE learning NOT to communicate via email when it comes to important matters like this.

Have you heard of ACES?

ACES is an agency that helps enforce child support...................http://www.childsupport-aces.org/.

They are suppose to have a "Parent Locator Service" :)

I haven't check them out yet.................has anyone else?

I am really curious about feedback about that organization.......... ;)

TIA !

Is this what some of you resort to when you have a few minutes to kill?

I'm just finding it quite amusing how you keep switching your screen names! You obviously have more time than the rest of us!!
