My daughter (living in Florida) married about 20 years ago. Broke up. Has no idea where he is. (no children, property etc.). She has been with a man for 18 of those 20 and they would like to marry because of her health and requiring insurance, etc. How can she go about divorcing her husband without knowing where he is? This would all be under Florida law. She has no income and very little funds. Please help!
Thanks

She can file for divorce and then serve him via publication. However she really should try to locate him. Its possible that he may have divorced her sometime (serving HER via publication) so that he could remarry. There are various "people finder" services available on the net....she could at least check those out.

She has no money to do that. It is very costly to run an ad in any paper nowadays. She's searched via the net with no results. She's sure he must be in Georgia though as that's where his family is from. She's pretty sick and I worry about her not getting medical care too.
Thanks!

I'd love to but at $485 a month DAB, that's not even remotely possible! I'd love to be able to!

I think I found the guy today online. It cost me $10 but if it's him, it's worth it. Can anyone tell me what should I do now?
Thanks

Now she contacts him to find out whether or not its him, whether or not he has ever divorced her, or whether or not he will cooperate with a divorce if he hasn't.

If this turns out not be the spouse, go to your county website and look for forms Dissolution of Marriage with No Dependent or Minor Children or Property - Service by Publication. All forms are in PDF format. These forms will include self-help instructions.
Filing Fee is $352.50 plus a final judgement fee of $10.50 - total of $363.00
