hi! been reading posts & getting a lot of info from u guys! keep it up!

here's my question:
First, this person is a perm. res. here for almost 10yrs. He got his card from a marriage to a USC in CA (they got 2 kids, now 8&6). Now, he's been separated from her for more than 3yrs (he's in IL now living for a year w/o his wife's knowledge).Divorce is on the way but has never finalized yet.

1)if he applies for citizenship, will her wife be contacted in CA or be informed upon?
2) can he not based his application for USC from his marriage? instead based on his residency/stayed here for more than 5 yrs?
3) how long is the processing time for him to get his USC? like period of time for him to be sched an interview?
4) will there be a problem of him staying here in IL instead of CA w/ his wife? will he be questioned about that?
5) does he need to file first for change of address before filing for USC?
6)do you suggest him to get a lawyer for this case?

I would really appreciate your replies to this post. Thank you so much for your continued support to this site.
