I am a 17-year-old from Houston, Texas.
I don’t think it’s necessary to get into all the itsy-bitsy details of my recent incident; I’d rather not spend 20 minutes giving a needless description. I’ll just say this: I am in a particular school-program that, because of my disability (Asperger’s Syndrome, a variant of autism), on-campus discrimination, along with other various particulars, against me [from a staff member] is, unquestionably, illegal. Despite the informing of my principle with the details of this malicious, mean-spirited incident, she still, surprisingly, sided against me.
As a youth, I cannot afford a Civil Rights lawyer; and coming from a family with not-so-well financial circumstances, hiring one would be infeasible. I need to know whether or not it’s possible for the state of Texas to provide me with a lawyer, free-of-charge; and, while I’m still on the subject, how would I go about doing it?
