And even though the DNA test results are in, that does NOT mean the COURT recognises him as the father. That probably won't be legally established until the hearing.

While it stinks to miss out on the first few months of the baby's life, 8 months is FAR from "too late" to establish a relationship. In the meantime, dad should concentrate on trying to establish a cooperative coparenting relationship with mom - which is easier said than done I know, but it's going to be a looooong 18 years coming up.

Anyone have ideas as to whether or not AkersTile's point is valid?

Its valid, but someone cannot get a temporary order without being in front of a judge for a hearing. The first hearing is scheduled for April (and it won't be the last hearing either before everything is decided) and therefore he really cannot even ask for temporary orders until then. It was his choice to wait so long to get the ball rolling.
