What is the name of your state? Oregon-Live in Washington

Purchased 2003 SUV. Signed papers, started to get in truck and decided to walk around the car to check for any damage prior to leaving lot. Found scratches on left rear quarter panel. General sales manager identified damage said bring it back and it will be fixed. Two days later I found a softball size paint blemish on drivers door and fifty cent piece size paint chunk missing from the middle. Take to dealer. They will paint door and gave me credit for accesories at parts counter. Three days later I notice that the bumper has been damaged. Take to dealer, after a lengthy argument they agree to replace bumper, not just paint to match.
Today 10/02 There is a vibration that makes steering wheel and door vibrate (nobody else in vehicle so I don't know if it vibrates elsewhere.) Dealership called today and the bumper they got in (which they are taking off a new car and putting on mine, note to anyone buying a new car: some sucker will get that painted bumper) is damaged as well. They said they will look for another because they knew I would not except that.
Bottem line I DONT WANT THIS POS ANYMORE. An attorney will contact me tomorrow (friend of a friend). Anyone have any advice or has anyone been through this BS. Oh yeah, the truck had 400 miles on it when I bought it.
Thanks for any help!!

Ok, when a vehicle is delivered to a dealership it is taken from the rail car it was shipped in, put on a semi and then dropped at the dealership. The semi driver is responsible for conducting an inspection prior to delivery at the dealership. If there is damage found during that inspection, the rail company is responsible for the damage that occurred in transport. If the semi driver doesn't inspect the vehicle or doesn't see any damage and document it and then drops it at the dealer and the dealer see it, then the semi truck company is responsible for the transportation damage. If none of the inspections by the truck driver or the person at the dealership turns up any damage, the technician who performs the pre-delivery innspection should see the transportation damage and report it to the service person who would then make a repir order and submit the damage to the appropriate party. No matter what the damage or who caused the transportation damage, the dealer is going to get reimbursed to have it fixed. Now I have two scenarios for you: a.) the dealer did see the damage, filed a claim and pocketed the reimbursement thinking he could sell the vehicle to a sucker who wouldn't notice the damage or sell it for a little less due to the damage OR b.) the damage to the vehicle occurred while it was on the dealer's lot, in which case he should be able to turn it into his insurance company (unless he also filed a false claim on the damage to them) What I would do is take pictures, go back to the dealer and be very frank - tell them you know that someone, if not them is responsible for the damage and that you want it repaired just the way it should've been prior to going on the lot. If they still refuse, call the manufacturer of you vehicle (chevy, dodge, etc) and tell customer service about your situation and also tell them about this less than honorable dealership. You have to stay calm and be nice or they will tell you to go piss in your hat. If you can give them the dramatic impression of you as the victim, they may put some pressure on the dealer to help you. Your final option would be to talk to an attorney and probably also get an opinion from your insurance company. good luck. it would also help me if i knew what your vehicle is exactly and the VIN, then I could do some more checking for you.
