Nj License, Pa Dui Arrest (ard) SUSPENSION QUESTION PLEASE HELP

What is the name of your state? PA/NJ

I've seen a few cases on here about PA dui arrest with a NJ license, but nothing answered my problem.

I am a student in PA with a NJ license. I was charged with DUI in PA, i got into the ARD program with the help of a lawyer. I've completed the program and paid my fees. My question is about the license suspension. On my final court date i received a 60 day license suspension. WHEN does the suspension start? Do i have to physically do anything with my NJ license. I've received nothing in the mail. I am so confused, and no one has answers. Does anyone have any help concerning any DUI issues with PA/NJ. Will NJ dmv get wind of my DUI, will my ins. rates go up?

If any other Info is needed i will be happy to provide it.

Don't get a lawyer, you will only add to your court fees, unless you know that the officer did something wrong during the traffic stop. They have video or cop witness, so only use a lawyer if they failed to read rights, conducted the stop in a poor fashion, or pulled you over without reason (though sometimes if they don't blood test you can argue that the breathalizer is not 100% accurate, if there is no record of it being calibrated I think 30 days before you are given the test. If you are going through a checkpoint and get a DUI, your screwed, these just are bulk processing plants for dui money. I was pulled over for speeding and the cop said he smelled alcohol. I was asked to perform the field sobriety tests, then I was brethalized, arrested, and taken to the hospital for a blood test. I had a BAC of .15 which puts me in the first teer (barely) this gives you 30 days no liscense, 6 months probation, 3 nights of 4 hour classes, and court fees. Total cost for me, no lawyers, minimum punishment ($1,155.80). I got off easy. If you get into the second or third teer, your fines go up and you will have more classes, and a longer suspension (60-90 days) My advice, do everything you are told as soon as you are told, and it should be done and over with in about 1 year. Also, you have 6 months to pay your fines if that is your probation length, if you do not pay your fines by then, your probation will be extended, and if no effort is shown that you are trying to pay your fines, they will put a warrant out for your arrest and you can go to jail. Moral of the story, don't drink and drive in PA. If you are caught do everything at the time you are told to. Thanks

Oh, if it is your first offense, you will automatically be given the option of ARD, take it, this allows for it to be expunged off your record after your 6 month probationary period. I think if it is a second or 3rd offense, you may need a lawyer to petition for acceptance into the ARD program. I just mailed in my liscense in for my 30 day suspension. I can't wait for this mess to be over.

Curt, CHILL. I'm just doing this incase someone else searches for advice or needs questions answered. I know what the date is, im not worried about it. There is something called a search engine, it takes what you type in and finds it somewhere on the internet, chances are, someone will search for advice such as this. Get something more productive to do than sit online and check dates of posts so that you can correct people for not threading properly. But hey curt thanks for the update.

how long after the court hearing do you get the licenese suspension order from PennDot to turn your licneses in?

DUI in PA, completed ARD license in CT

Hello everyone,
Searched these forums and didn't find an answer so I'd like to bring this thread back to life. Here's the situation.
I have a non-PA drivers license.
I had a DUI in PA, completed ARD, driving privileges in PA no longer under suspension.
I have since moved to PA and would like to obtain PA license.
I don't believe PennDOT has reported my DUI to the DMV offiices of the state where I hold my license. I am waiting on my driver record from my state to confirm.

Question is: If I transfer my out of state license to a new PA license and there is no record of my DUI on my out of state license, then I start with a clean driver record for PA?

If the above is true and I also need to change insurance companies because mine doesn't currently operate in PA, do I need to tell them of the DUI if neither my current state nor PA seems to know about the DUI?

this is interesting...

You have a valid DL..

so you will have no issues getting a PA DL..

you where not convited of anything...

ARD stays on a PA drivers record for 10 years...

you alos get 5 points for the suspension...

and lose 3 points every year if you get no tickets... fines etc...

good question on how it will be handled

why not call penn dot and ask them?
