I've non-compete clause in my contract for the company I work for which is contracted by Hospital in the state of NJ. The hospital is ending the company's contract; therefore, terminating my contract with the company. The hospital wants to offer me a contract, but the company says they will uphold non-compete clause. Is that still enforceable if the company itself has lost it's contract to the hospital.

The hospital terminating their contract with the hospital does not terminate your noncompete agreement with the company.

You can have the noncompete agreement personally reviewed in its entirety by a lawyer in your area, however, to see if the terms of the noncompete are enforceable as written.

Good luck.

In legal terminology, is this considered termination without cause? I'm just trying to get things in a row to see if it even is worth resorting to legal help

I don't know the reason your employer terminated your employment so I can't say if it was with or without cause.
