What is the name of your state? Oklahoma

Hello,
I am required to travel for my job. I have just been declared a non-exempt employee and I would like to know how this affects my after hours travel time and time worked while away. (For instance, we will be departing at 4:25 p.m. on Monday. I presume I will be working nearly a full day prior to leaving and arriving home at 8:25 p.m. on Friday evening)

If there are business meetings outside of the 8 hour work day, am I to be compensated for them?

Your question is not as simple as you probably think...I'm not aware if any state laws would override this.

How are you traveling? By car, plane, etc? That may dictate the answer. Generally, if travel occurs during normal work hours, regardless of method, it will be paid. Generally, when travel occurs outside of work hours but allows you to "do as you please" in a sense (like fly) then it does not have to be paid. Driving, on the other hand, would not allow you to "do as you please".

Same general rule applies for meetings--you would be paid for however long the meeting is. If your meeting is from 7a-7p and your normal work hours 8a-4p, you would be paid for 12 hours. But if it was short, you would not be penalized.
