What is the name of your state? Texas

I need some help about getting my paychecks. My company has not been paying me for the past 4 months. They owe me 9 paychecks , equivalent to 20,000$. They just give me lame excuses. Can I do something to get back my money. My credit has gone from 10K to 30 K in the last 3 months.
Please advise.
Thanks,

Thanks Beth,
My company is in Pittsburgh. I am a consultant working in Dallas.
Do I still need to go to Texas Workforce Commission.
Let me know.
Thanks.

If you are an independent consultant and not an employee, then this isn't an issue for any State's DOL. You are a supplier to the company and are owed money in exactly the same manner as if you were a steel vendor and hadn't been paid for the ten tons of cold-rolled you delivered.

You need to pursue this as a civil matter. I suggest you consult with a local business attorney.
