What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kansas

My ex quit paying child support and spousal support and disappeared a few months ago, and I recently found out that he has moved to Texas.

I can't afford an attorney and need to know what to do/how to find out if he is employed anywhere and get a current address for him.

He is $6600 behind right now. I have been looking for a second job because I just can't make ends meet because I don't receive child support for the kids anymore.

I can't even take the kids to a Dr because he dropped the court ordered medical insurance that he had for them and our youngest has Chiari Malformation that must be kept track of and treated by a neurologist.

I make too much to qualify for any help through the state.

I have heard that it is near impossible to get Texas to enforce another states court orders, but not sure if that is true or not.

I have sold everything that we can do without just to get to this point.

Any suggestions on what I can/need to do would be greatly appreciated.

You need to downsize even more because if he does NOT want to pay child support he won't and you can't count on it. File a contempt of court case against him in the state of proper jurisdiction and maybe the judge can have him thrown in jail until he pays a purge. You will need an address for him. Do you know his parents' numbers?

to back to your court file a contempt on him give them EVERY piece of info on his new location. they will go after him. dont count on any money from him for a while it always takes time. they could take his taxes, if he files. but you have to file on him asap

WRONG. The court is NOT an investigator. They do not investigate and track down people.

Also wrong. They never take his taxes! The taxes belong to the IRS and the State taxing authority.

They may however, intercept any REFUND that may be due him - if he overpaid his withholding.

Miss that portion. I was concentrating on the first sentence. SMR has posted on several threads -- wrong info just about every time. he is NOT going to last if he keeps it up.
