What is the name of your state? Iowa, but all apply as well

I've read where people save their text messages from ex's, etc. How do you print them, or otherwise get them off your phone?

I have several that I need to save for the day "someday" comes. But I'm getting close to reaching my message limit and I hate to lose them. Thanks so much!!!

Best thing to do is call your cell phone provider and see if your phone has that capability. No one here will be able to answer that for your particular phone without knowing a bunch of information.

I'd really suggest you call your service provider.

But failing that, I have forwarded texts from my phone to my email so that I could print/save them. With my phone, the stupid header "FORWARDED" lost the equivalent amount of text in the beginning of the forwarded-to-email text. :o Never figured out how to avoid that.

you may have to call your carrier. They can tell you if you can forward text messages from your phone to your email, then print them out. You may need your phone bill to show that the messages actually came in to your phone, because who is to say you didn't conjure up the emails?

since you can send a text message to a cell phone from the internet, it is very hard to use them in court.

thanks for quick replies

:DMy cell phone provider wasn't very helpful. I got that "we don't know how to do that as we don't have any way for you to check your messages from a computer". Not quite exactly what I was asking.

Silver - I didn't think to forward to my email. I'll try that.

I do save all bills and I hope that I never NEED them. But since DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING is repeated on here all the time, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Funny thing is that these messages aren't harrassing or anything. I just want to be able to show that mom (DH's ex) and I get along ok and she's ALWAYS emailing me or txt-ing me to pick up their DD and take her to things. I swear I do more for this kid than her mom and it's the mom that's asking ME to do it! I just want to be able to have something in case my "being nice to a fault" comes back to bite me in the butt somehow.

I don't blame you a bit for wanting to save them, and in fact think you ought. :)

Just an idea...
I took video while scrolling through texts on my phone, my husband did the same on his, to document some interactions in the past. I have all of mine saved to a separate folder in my phone (depends on the make you have and how much storage, I suppose), but if my phone ever "loses" what is stored in it, I have it on video. I couldn't figure out any other way to transfer or email them to myself that didn't lose important info (who sent it, when it was sent and from what number, etc). Does your phone have a micro card capability to save texts and graphics to? That might be worth the investment.

there is some way to hook your phone up to your computer and do a data transfer.

I think it was posted here before...try the search function.

I am sure you can find it on the internet.
