No, I'm not incorrect. Of course if you want to pay the arrears then more power to you but that doesn't make the issue your business anymore than me paying your attorneys fees makes whatever he is doing for
You becomes my business. It's simply paying somebody's debt.

You forgiving the debt still doesn't make it your business. It would be the same as you paying the debt.

It not being your business refers to the fact you cannot have the suspension instituted nor can you request it be lifted. Paying the debt or forgiving the debt is not you having any control over the license status.

I posted the rule of law. If a caseworker deviates from that it is the caseworker deviating from the rule of law.

As to her professional license being suspended; I accepted your statement.

So, it appears somebody is lying to somebody.

I don't question the posted rules. What I was told is that each case worker is able to apply those rules on a case by case basis. In her words "collecting any back support is better then collecting zero". Since our family has received a grand total of $38 dollars in the past two years I couldn't agree more.

Anyone can pay. Should I choose to essentially make a short term loan to the obligee this will satisfy the agency's requirement to have the license reinstated. Therefore it would appear I do have [some] control of the license issue. While not common she has seen this in other cases. Since the funds would be returned to me in a matter of days it's an easy decision.

Unfortunately the obligee has put/found herself in a difficult position. If I can help her gain employment in her chosen file this could lead to receiving the benefits owed to our family. This would not only benefit our home but improve the standard of living in their home as well.

You can pay the debt. That is still not having control over the license issue. You are not understanding the dynamics. You can lessen the debt. You can't decide what happens with the license isssue. While paying the debt down may allow for the license to be reinstated, it could also not result in a reinstatement of the license. You would have no control over the the actual license issue.

As to the money being returned to you; ya, good luck with that but if you are willing to do that, why not just forgive the debt? It's the same result. You did say that was a possibility, didn't you?

I was told once the one month debt is paid the agency would release her license restrictions and forward that information to the DMV. I understand we have no control what could happen with the DMV at that point. It's a process and this is one step toward the desired result. If I make a payment to my account the money would be forwarded to me. As to the other option, let's just say there's a slight difference between the one month obligation and the entire arrearage due.

What on earth makes you think she'll stick to ANY future obligation once the arrears disappear and her license is reinstated?

Update: after paying the one month c/s obligation at the agency I met with our case worker. After showing her the receipt she reinstated the obligee's license on the spot. Now all she has to do settle up with DMV [$25] and receive a new DL [lost her old one].

As I told our case worker, I have no reason to believe she'll come forth with the name / address of her future employer. That is out of my hands. I did everything I could do on my end, which in this case was in effect cut her a short term loan to satisfy the agency's [license] reinstatement requirement. The case worker made a note to herself to run her records in case she doesn't come forward with her employer info.

EDIT: Meant to add this wasn't the 1st time the obligee had her DL suspended. Should she not do the right thing or the agency unable to locate her employer in their system they'll simply suspend her license again.

Thank you for updating. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Remember, these are the dolts who aren't filing taxes because they don't want the refund to go towards Mom's arrears... Mom has no desire to pay child support. She has willfully tried to avoid paying support. I guess she's a bitter unhappy person.

Logged on my CS web portal this morning to see the payment I made on Monday [to the obligee's account] was credited [w/funds forwarded to obligor] as of yesterday.
