Good thing some other people (ForFun and RepoStories) set the record straight.

They didn't. For the record I never said blow it up, I said destroy it. A car without a carb or perhaps a disabled fuel pump is effectively a lawn ornament. And my advice was dead on correct.

The only way to save the car is to pay it off.

Temporarily disabling a car, without damaging it, so that it can be picked up at a later time is the same as destroying the car in your mind?
