Ohio: Ex Went to FL & Stopped Paying CS.

Child Support Order in Ohio where my child & I live.Ex called in May & said he moved to Fl for a job. He has not paid child support since 5/8/19. Total arrearage is over $6000. He had previously been paying extra (court order) to pay down previous arrearage. I have called child-support, but there is nothing they can do except for run his name through various systems to see where he is working at. He has not given me an address. We have joint custody, but our child has not stayed overnight with him in over three years, and he has not had a valid address since 2016. Is there anything else I can do besides call child support? The only contact information I have for him is the phone number and I have already given that child support.

Unless you can find out where he works there is nothing you can do to speed up the order being sent to his employer. Assuming he is working "on the books" the employer is supposed to notify the state that he has been hired. This does not always happen. But when his wages are reported for the 2nd quarter for unemployment tax they will catch it and put it in the system. The deadline for that submission is tomorrow 7/31/19.

You've done the best thing: gone through your state's child support office/bureau/whatever they call it, and you have turned over whatever information you have. They will keep an accurate accounting of what he has/has not aid, and act accordingly.

Be patient.

When they intercept anything sizeable, he will complain. But he won't have any recourse... Because if he takes it to court, he'll have to explain how is it, if he moved to FL for a job, that he has not paid child support.
